Staffing - Easter 2018
Miss Helen Keighley has chosen to leave Lees at Easter due to health issues. Miss Keighley has taught at Lees for 26 years and we are grateful for all she has done for our school. She will be missed by both staff and children and we wish her well for the future.
We shall also say goodbye to Mrs Kath Harrison who has been a Teaching Assistant at Lees for the last 23 years and to Mrs Val Greenwood who has worked in our school kitchen for over 26 years. Both are retiring at the end of the Spring term. They will both be missed by the children and staff at Lees but we wish them both a long and happy retirement.
We also say farewell, for a short time, to Mrs Sam Lewis who begins her maternity leave at the end of April. Year 3 will continue to be taught by Mrs Helen Startin Monday to Thursday and by Mrs Lister-French on Fridays, who has taught in school since September and is known to the children.
Every Tuesday lunch time, Mrs Judson, Nicky Martin (parent) and Julie (New Coley Nurseries) run a gardening club for the children at Lees. We have had lots of fun digging planters out getting ready for bulbs, flowers and vegetables.
We are so lucky to have such willing and fantastic volunteers and all of the children have loved having Julie and Nicky working with them.
A massive thank you to Hilary at New Coley Nurseries, who has very kindly funded Julie’s time with us, as well as donating lots of bulbs and plants. We are extremely grateful for all her help and hope that this very close relationship between Lees and New Coley Nurseries continues to blossom!!!
